Hammer Throw-Dance-What?
Hey there, I am so sorry for not having written in a long time, I was busy with my exams but I finally got time so I decided to write to you about the two things that I love the most and about the problem of choices.
Till 7th grade I was a super lazy kid. I started dancing in grade 8 and got terribly injured and I had to stop dancing for a long time. The injury was so bad that I couldn't walk for a year. Let's not get into further details of my injury. I started dancing again later in 9th grade and now i am in 12th grade. I am so addicted to dancing that I keep moving and dancing all the time! My favorite dancers are:
Derek Hough, I simply love him, he has been my favorite since a long time and there is so much more to him than the way he dances. I admire him a lot. I love Travis Wall for his creativity and for his innovations and for those amazing routines that he puts up. Next is Amy Yakima, she blows my mind every time she dances. Allison Holker, because i can't describe her in words. Kathryn McCormick because there is something about her that makes you want to keep looking at her. So in my free time I watch their videos over and over again.
However, in the year 2014, I got myself into athletics and I am still figuring out how. Probably because my brother is a professional tennis player and my dad loves sports. My brother's fitness trainer happened to be a national record holder in hammer throw. I used to accompany my brother sometimes for fitness because I had to develop and strengthen my body for dance. One day, the trainer gave me his hammer and taught me the techniques. And you won't believe what happened next, my very first throw went as far as 14 meters. It was surprising, but I did it.
So, my parents put me into hammer throw training classes and I started practising twice a week and in the month of December, I broke the state record though I couldn't go for nationals.
However, everything came to a point where I had to decide between dance and hammer throw. This was crazy! Because of the heavy injury that I suffered in 8th grade, my body will not sustain two activities simultaneously. But I loved them so much and it was then that i realized that I have a choice problem because I cannot choose one.
It took me some time, but i eventually sorted it out. I now practice Hammer throw twice a week and instead of fitness exercise, I do up dance exercise in the morning, which are almost the same things and along with it I dance. So I am managing both and I am really Happy about it.
Also, I would really love it if you guys tell me about your decision problems, in a comment below or you can always mail me and I'll make sure that I reply.
Got to go now, 3 events coming up! Adios Amigos.
Love always,
Urja
